Honor may be preparing another smartphone with a massive battery. A new leak claims the company is testing a 12,000 mAh battery. According to the source, the battery has already entered “trial production.” The tipster also shared key details about its capacity and energy rating.
The battery is expected to be marketed as 12,000 mAh. However, its rated capacity is reportedly 11,790 mAh. It is also said to have a rated energy of 43.86 Wh. These figures suggest Honor is targeting a very large battery for an upcoming device.
Honor has previously been linked to batteries ranging from 11,000 mAh to 12,000 mAh. Those reports were tied to the upcoming Honor Power3. More recent rumors suggested that the Power3 could instead feature a 10,000 mAh battery. Honor was also reportedly working on a 14,000 mAh smartphone battery.
It remains unclear what happened to that larger battery project. The latest 12,000 mAh battery could point to a different device. The source did not reveal which Honor phone will use the new battery. As a result, its final destination remains uncertain for now.
Some users on Weibo believe it could belong to the upcoming Honor Win2 series. The Honor Win Turbo2 has also been mentioned as a possible candidate. The Honor Power3 remains another possibility. However, there is currently no confirmation linking the battery to any specific smartphone.
Honor has not officially announced the battery or revealed its intended device. More details could emerge as the company moves closer to its next smartphone launches.
