Honor has officially confirmed that its flagship smartphone, the Magic8 Pro, is now part of the Android 17 beta program. The device can now receive the Android 17 Beta 3 update.
The company shared the announcement through a press release. Honor said developers can install Android 17 Beta 3 on the Magic8 Pro to explore new features and test app compatibility. The update will also help developers optimize their applications before the public Android 17 rollout.
Android 17 Beta 3 introduces several new features across the system. These include system-wide Bubbles, support for the RAW14 image format, and wider UI customization options. Google has also improved system controls and expanded the Dark theme experience. In addition, the update brings stronger privacy and security tools.
Honor stated that the Magic8 Pro must run software version 10.0.0.162 (C636E4R105P2H2) or a newer build before users can install Android 17 Beta 3. Google first released Android 17 Beta 3 in late March. Later, the company rolled out the first QPR1 beta update. The stable Android 17 release is expected to arrive in September this year.
Meanwhile, Google is likely to reveal more details about Android 17 during The Android Show: I/O Edition. The event is scheduled to take place later today.
