Geely Auto Pakistan did not have a stall at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026. It did not have a car on the floor either. Yet by the end of the weekend at the Lahore International Expo Centre, it was one of the names visitors kept repeating.
PAPS 2026 played out largely as expected. The country’s established assemblers took the biggest halls, new variants were pulled out from under covers, and crowds moved steadily through the displays across the run of the show. The headlines were written for the brands that had the most floor space.
Geely, which is preparing to formally enter the Pakistani market, took the opposite route.
The bags that did the talking
Instead of buying into the exhibition floor, the Chinese automaker put brand ambassadors around the venue carrying oversized “BIG BAGS” — each one printed with the Geely logo and a QR code, and each one large enough that visitors could not walk past without noticing.

Scanning the code took visitors to the Geely Auto Pakistan website, where the company is staging information about its entry into the market and the products it intends to bring here.
The mechanics are simple enough — a walking billboard with a click-through attached — but the design of the campaign is worth noting. It withheld the product entirely. There was no car to photograph, no price to compare, and no spec sheet to argue about. What visitors got instead was a logo, a question, and a link.
