Huawei’s next flagship lineup is already drawing attention ahead of its official launch. The Huawei Mate 90 series is expected to debut in China in October. However, early leaks have started to reveal key details about the devices.
A recent leak focuses on the top-end model, the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max. According to the source, the phone may include a dual telephoto camera setup. This setup is similar to the previous generation. However, one major upgrade stands out. One of the telephoto cameras could support 10x optical zoom.
In comparison, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max offered dual 50MP periscope telephoto cameras. These cameras supported 4x and 6.2x optical zoom. So, the rumored 10x zoom would mark a clear improvement.
The leak also suggests Huawei is testing a 1-inch type sensor. This sensor will likely be used for the main camera. If true, it could bring better low-light performance and sharper images. As a result, photography could become a major highlight of the Mate 90 series.
Moreover, the tipster claims the overall imaging performance will exceed expectations. While this statement is vague, it hints at strong camera upgrades. Still, real-world results will only be known after launch.
On the design side, the Mate 90 Pro Max may feature a flat display. This would be a shift from curved panels seen in earlier models. Many users prefer flat screens for better usability and fewer accidental touches.
For context, the Mate 80 Pro Max launched in China in November last year. It also featured a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture. Huawei may build on that foundation with the new series.
As leaks continue to surface, more details are expected in the coming weeks. Until then, the Mate 90 series remains one of the most anticipated launches of the year.
