Huawei may soon introduce a smaller version of its MatePad Pro Max tablet, according to a new rumor from China. The report suggests that the company is developing a compact model that keeps most of the premium features of the current MatePad Pro Max. The smaller size could make the device easier to carry and more comfortable to use.
However, the source also claims that the upcoming tablet may come with a high price tag. As a result, buyers looking for a premium Android tablet may need to prepare for another expensive Huawei device.
At this stage, the tipster did not reveal any specifications or the tablet’s display size. Huawei has also not confirmed the existence of the device. For reference, the current MatePad Pro Max features a 13.2-inch display with a 3000×2000 resolution. It is also available with Huawei’s PaperMatte Display technology.
The tablet runs on the Kirin T93 Pro chipset and comes with 12GB, 16GB, or 20GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants. In terms of cameras, the MatePad Pro Max offers a 50MP rear camera and a 12MP front-facing camera. The device also includes six speakers for an improved media experience.
Meanwhile, the tablet supports 66W wired charging and 40W reverse wired charging.
There is still no information about the launch timeline or official pricing of the smaller model. Still, the latest rumor suggests Huawei could soon expand its premium tablet lineup with a more compact alternative to the MatePad Pro Max.
