The iQOO 16 will reportedly pack an 8,400 mAh battery, according to the new leaks. The figure is lower than an earlier 8,500 mAh claim. Still, it would give the upcoming phone a much larger battery than the iQOO 15.
The iQOO 15 comes with a 7,000 mAh battery, so the new model could deliver a notable increase in capacity. The iQOO 16 is expected to launch this month, although iQOO has not yet confirmed its launch date.
The phone is also rumored to support 100W wired charging, matching the iQOO 15. It may also add wireless charging, but the charging speed has not been revealed. The iQOO 15 supports 40W wireless charging.
Beyond its battery, the iQOO 16 could bring several upgrades across its hardware. The rumored specifications include a 6.85-inch flat 2K display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The device is also expected to feature a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Its camera setup may include a 50MP primary sensor based on OmniVision’s OV50Q.
The iQOO 16 could also carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for improved water and dust resistance. Additionally, the phone is rumored to include a dedicated graphics chip aimed at improving gaming performance.
Geekbench has reportedly listed the iQOO 16 with the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC. The listing also shows 16GB of RAM and Android 17. These specifications have yet to receive official confirmation from iQOO. However, the latest battery claim suggests the iQOO 16 could offer a major capacity boost over its predecessor.
