Chinese smartphone brand iQOO is reportedly testing its next Neo-series flagship, the iQOO Neo12. While the company has not confirmed the device yet, a new leak has revealed some early details about its hardware.
According to the source on Weibo, the iQOO Neo12 is currently under internal testing in China. The upcoming smartphone may arrive with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. In addition, the phone is expected to feature a 2K resolution display.
The leak also suggests that iQOO is testing different cooling systems for the device. The company is reportedly considering both passive and active cooling technologies. As a result, the Neo12 could support external cooling accessories. It may also include a built-in cooling fan for better heat management during gaming and heavy tasks.
This would mark a notable change for the Neo lineup. The previous-generation iQOO Neo11 did not include active cooling support when it launched in China in October last year.
The Neo11 featured the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 6.82-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display, and a massive 7,500mAh battery. With the Neo12, iQOO could focus more on thermal performance alongside flagship-level specifications. Although the launch is still months away, more details about the iQOO Neo12 are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
