Metro Bus service in Islamabad has been suspended by authorities following threats of a protest demonstration planned by government employees, officials confirmed on Friday.
Officials stated the suspension was taken as a precautionary measure to prevent any disruption to public transport infrastructure during the anticipated employee demonstration against the government.
Government employee leader Rahman Bajwa confirmed the Metro Bus closure was a deliberate government decision, stating the move was intended to protect the country’s public assets.
Commuters across Islamabad have been left without access to the Metro Bus service, facing significant difficulties in travelling across the city following the sudden and unannounced suspension.
