Government employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive higher basic salaries starting next month after the provincial Finance Department notified a new pay scale structure, replacing the framework that had been in place since 2022.
The notification confirms that the Basic Pay Scales 2026 will take effect from July 1, merging the Ad-hoc Relief Allowances granted in 2022 and 2025 directly into employees basic pay.
The move follows approval by the provincial cabinet during a special budget session earlier this year.
Alongside the restructured pay scales, the government has announced a fresh Ad-hoc Relief Allowance of 7 percent for 2026, also effective from July 1. Contract and contingent paid staff have been brought into this allowance as well, extending the benefit beyond permanent employees.
Despite the overhaul in basic pay, the timing of annual increments remains unchanged, with employees continuing to receive them on December 1 each year as before.
With the new structure now in force, salaried government staff across the province will see the changes reflected in their pay starting this month.
