Lenovo has started the pre-purchase of Z5 in China and the smartphone is all against our expectations and what was shown on the official website of Lenovo.
Last month, we reported that Lenovo is about to launch an “all screen” and notch free smartphone that will put iPhone X to shame. Lenovo’s Vice President, Chang Cheng, teased a“full-screen smartphone” on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website. The post suggested that the company will soon be launching a bezel-less smartphone that might have a screen to body ratio of up to 95 percent. But on 5th June, the Chinese tech company Lenovo officially unveiled the phone which did not come up to our expectations and the design was significantly different what was shown on the website of Lenovo.

To our surprise, the Z5 is not an “all screen”, bezel-less and notch free phone with 95% screen to body ratio. It seems like Lenovo hyped up the smartphone and now we are getting a device with a notch, bottom “chin” bezel, and 90% screen to body ratio.
Now that Lenovo has taken the wraps off the Z5—at least, we surely got to know it isn’t a high-end flagship device. The phone seems set to launch in China for a starting price $203. The phone has a 6.2-inch 2246×1080 LCD, a Snapdragon 636, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 3300mAh battery. It’s actually pretty cool that a mid-range smartphone is getting a flagship-style design like this. However, it is a shame Lenovo didn’t promote the device with this design from the start.
At the end of the day, Lenovo’s hype about Z5 proved all deceptive and not good for building brand loyalty. Honestly, why should anyone even trust Lenovo’s future teasers? Personally, I won’t.
