Meta Turns AI Video Experiments Into a Viral Social Experience with “Vibes”

Meta has rolled out a bold new experiment called Vibes, an AI-powered feed that lets users scroll through a stream of endlessly creative, AI-generated video clips inside the Meta AI app. Users can watch, remix, and share these full-screen clips across Instagram, Facebook, and beyond.

Vibes delivers a vertical, TikTok-style feed filled entirely with AI-generated videos. Users can craft content from a text prompt, remix trending clips, or layer in music, styles, and transitions with intuitive editing controls. The built-in toolbar makes it simple to tweak visuals, adjust audio, and experiment with formats in real time. Each clip is powered by Meta’s backend AI models, and creators can instantly publish or cross-post to other Meta apps, turning their ideas into shareable moments.

Meta explains Vibes as:

“With Vibes, you can start from scratch, work with content you already have, or remix a video from the feed to make it your own. Add new visuals, layer in music, and adjust styles to match your taste. And if you see a Meta AI video on Instagram, you can tap through to remix it in the Meta AI app.”

By making AI-powered remixing accessible to everyone, Meta aims to flood its ecosystem with new content, drive engagement, and keep users glued to its platforms. But the move also raises big questions: Can Meta balance originality with algorithmic generation? How will it moderate a surge of AI-driven content?

If the experiment succeeds, Vibes could transform social media from a content consumption platform into a generative playground, where every user becomes a creator.
