A Metro bus was completely destroyed by fire near the 6th Road stop in Rawalpindi on Saturday morning, with no passengers reported injured in the incident.
Rescue 1122 officials arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control after the bus caught fire while passing through the 6th Road bus stop.
Metro bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad was suspended following the incident, while authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
Large plumes of smoke rising from the gutted bus were visible from a considerable distance, and videos shared on social media showed the red bus engulfed in flames.
Rescue workers were seen attempting to douse the blaze as it continued to consume the vehicle, according to footage circulating across multiple social media platforms.
It is pertinent to mention here that in 2025, at least 7 passengers were injured after jumping from a Metrobus that caught fire in Lahore on Ferozepur Road near Naseerabad Station.
In 2021, another Metro bus was completely burnt in a separate fire, apparently caused by a short circuit near Minar-i-Pakistan station, also in Lahore.
