Pakistan has secured a major export deal for its automotive industry after MG JW Automobile Pakistan signed an agreement with Bangladesh’s RANCON Group to export locally assembled vehicles. The partnership is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s position in regional automobile exports while supporting the government’s efforts to increase industrial growth and foreign exchange earnings. Under the agreement, the company will export 100 vehicles to Bangladesh this year, with total exports expected to reach 5,800 vehicles over the next four years.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place in the presence of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan.
Speaking after the ceremony, Haroon Akhtar Khan said the agreement is an important achievement for Pakistan’s automotive sector. He added that the deal will bring millions of dollars in foreign exchange and support the country’s export-driven economic strategy.
He said the government, under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, continues to promote policies that encourage exports, attract investment, strengthen local manufacturing, and improve the business environment for industries.
Haroon Akhtar Khan also revealed that the government is preparing a comprehensive auto policy. According to him, the policy will focus on increasing vehicle exports, improving localization, and strengthening Pakistan’s automotive manufacturing sector.
He said Pakistan’s automobile industry has made significant progress in production quality, localization, and manufacturing capacity. As a result, locally assembled vehicles can now compete in international markets. He added that the government will continue supporting industries that boost exports, create jobs, and introduce new technologies.
Muhammad Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiyan, Executive Director of Bangladesh’s RANCON Group, welcomed the agreement. He said the partnership will increase competition in Bangladesh’s automobile market and offer consumers high-quality vehicles manufactured in Pakistan.
He also said Pakistan’s automotive industry now meets international manufacturing standards and has strong export potential.
MG JW Automobile Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Jianqiang Shao also welcomed the partnership. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding Pakistan’s automotive exports across regional and international markets.
Chief Operating Officer Amir Nazir, senior government officials, company representatives, and members of the business community also attended the signing ceremony.
