Motorola has introduced the new Edge 70 Max in India, adding another premium option to its Edge 70 smartphone series. The new handset focuses on display quality, battery life, and flagship-level performance.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max features a large 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel also supports HDR10+ and reaches a claimed peak brightness of 7,000 nits. In addition, the display includes an in-screen fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola ships the device with Android 16 out of the box. The company has also promised three major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.
For photography, the Edge 70 Max carries a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera. It also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2-in-1 light sensor. On the front, users get a 32MP selfie camera placed inside a centered hole-punch cutout.
Battery life is another major highlight of the device. The smartphone packs a massive 7,100mAh battery. It supports 90W wired charging and 25W magnetic wireless charging.
Motorola has also focused on durability. The Edge 70 Max carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance and meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standards. The handset also features an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both the front and rear panels.
The device includes several modern connectivity features. These include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, dual-SIM 5G support, and a USB Type-C port.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max will go on sale in India on July 20. Buyers will be able to choose from Pantone Dark Shadow, Pantone Ice Melt, and Pantone Aqua Gray color options.
As for pricing, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs INR 54,999, which is around $570. Meanwhile, the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at INR 59,999, or about $625.
