The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved another Rs. 0.52 per unit increase in electricity prices under the quarterly adjustment mechanism, marking the second consecutive electricity tariff hike within a week.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the increase has been approved under the second quarterly adjustment of the current fiscal year.
The latest tariff increase is expected to place an additional financial burden of approximately Rs. 12.67 billion on electricity consumers across Pakistan.
Consumers will pay an additional Rs. 0.52 per unit in their electricity bills for September, October, and November 2026.
The increase will apply to consumers across the country, including customers of K-Electric.
The latest adjustment is expected to further increase electricity bills for households and businesses during the three-month period.
This is the second electricity price increase announced by NEPRA within a week.
On September 4, 2026, the regulator approved an earlier increase of Rs. 2.06 per unit under the monthly adjustment mechanism.
With the latest quarterly adjustment, electricity consumers are facing another increase in power costs, adding to the overall pressure on household and business expenses.
