The launch for Samsung Galaxy S11 is still a while away but through patent-based and other technical renders, we might have our first look of the smartphone.
As far as the technical details about the upcoming Samsung flagship are concerned, Samsung is seemingly preparing a futuristic device which would deviate from the form-factors that we have previously seen in vogue. One of the recent patent leaks points that the South Korean tech giant could be working on a “borderless” smartphone with a very curvy look to the overall finish of the smartphone.
As evident from the image, the smartphone seems to have a display that extends to all the four sides and touches the back of the smartphone.
These patents were originally obtained by Let’s Go Digital and were later shared by the tech team at Forbes. The front camera and the different sensors are placed on the upper curved portion of the display. The rear of the smartphone seems slightly curvy and houses the rear lenses in a vertical array at the top center. This design pattern might be reflected in the upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung as well as on some of the other smartphones by the company.
“The front camera and associated sensors are implemented in the curved display area. To prevent this curvature causing image distortions, the flat camera module is placed with a tilt. The curved screen ensures that the whole still looks aesthetically good. The fingerprint sensor is also processed under the screen,” the report further writes.
It would be worth mentioning here that these design leaks come from the utility patents filed by the company and might not be fully incorporated in the final design of the smartphone. Having said that, it surely depicts that the smartphone company is working on these design lines and, if the tests and other approvals go alright, we might see this design in the upcoming flagship from the smartphone giant.
