vivo is set to unveil the X Fold6 in China on June 26. Before the official launch, the company had already started taking pre-orders and revealed several key specifications of its next-generation foldable smartphone.
However, a new leak has now revealed the device’s possible pricing, and it could disappoint some buyers. According to information shared on Weibo, the vivo X Fold6 may start at CNY 9,999 ($1,475) for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
If the leaked information proves accurate, the starting price would be more than 40 percent higher than the vivo X Fold5. The previous model launched at CNY 6,999 ($1,035) with the same memory and storage configuration.
The significant price increase may be linked to rising component costs. Manufacturers have faced higher expenses for key parts, including processors, RAM, and storage modules.
The leak also reveals pricing for other variants of the vivo X Fold6:
| Variant | Expected Price (CNY) | Approx. Price (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| 12GB RAM + 512GB Storage | CNY 10,999 | $1,625 |
| 16GB RAM + 512GB Storage | CNY 11,499 | $1,700 |
| 16GB RAM + 1TB Storage | CNY 12,499 | $1,845 |
Besides the pricing details, vivo has already confirmed several hardware features. The X Fold6 will pack a large 7,000mAh battery and carry both IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings. The foldable smartphone will run OriginOS 6 Fold and use the new Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset.
The device will feature an 8.02-inch flexible inner display and an upgraded hinge design. These upgrades aim to improve durability and the overall folding experience. For photography, the X Fold6 will include a 200MP primary rear camera. It will also feature a periscope telephoto camera equipped with Sony’s LYT-602 sensor.
vivo will offer the foldable in four color options, including Blue Hole, Black Gold Edition, Salt Lake, and Polar Night. More details, including official pricing and availability, will be announced when the vivo X Fold6 launches later this week.
