Pakistan Post has issued a revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for pension disbursement, requiring pensioners to complete digital proof of life verification through NADRA every six months. Family pensioners whose pensions depend on marital status must also submit a non-marriage or non-remarriage certificate.
In a letter to the officials concerned, Pakistan Post said verification can be completed through Pak ID mobile app, authorised registration centres, mobile units and e-Sahulat franchises. Bank branches and mobile apps operating as authorised NADRA centres will also offer the service.
Pensioners without access to digital facilities, or those who cannot be verified due to extreme old age or medical reasons, can use the manual life certificate form No. 10. Pakistani pensioners living abroad must use form No. 11, while family pensioners abroad must use form No. 12.
Where continuation of a family pension is conditional on marital status, the non-marriage or non-remarriage certificate must be verified by the relevant union council and submitted to the pension facilitation centre.
If updated marital status information is not available in the record of NADRA, the prescribed alternative procedure can be followed. The Pakistan Post directorate of accounts has directed all offices concerned to inform pensioners about the procedure.
