Nubia has confirmed plans to launch what it calls the world’s first AI agent smartphone later this month. The company will introduce the new device during the upcoming World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in Shanghai, China.
The event will take place from July 17 to July 20. Nubia shared the announcement through its official Weibo account but did not reveal the phone’s name or key specifications.
Reports suggest that the upcoming handset could succeed the nubia M153 AI smartphone, which debuted in China earlier this year. The M153 arrived with ByteDance’s Doubao AI assistant and focused heavily on artificial intelligence features.
A well-known source claims the new smartphone will offer deep system-level AI integration. It may also support autonomous cross-platform operations, allowing AI functions to work across different apps and services with less user input.
The current Nubia M153 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It also features 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device uses the Doubao AI system and serves as Nubia’s first major push into AI-powered smartphones.
Although Nubia has not confirmed the hardware details of the new model, expectations are high because the company describes it as the world’s first AI agent smartphone.
More information, including the phone’s specifications, features, pricing, and availability, is expected during WAIC 2026 in Shanghai. The event could also provide a closer look at how Nubia plans to bring system-level AI experiences to smartphones.
