OpenAI is offering select users a one-month free trial of ChatGPT Plus. The promotion has been widely reported in India. TechJuice has also verified that it appears for some Pakistani accounts. The subscription normally costs $20 (~Rs 5,500-5,800) per month. Eligible users see a “Claim free offer” option on the subscription page. However, they must still add payment details first. The plan then auto-renews at full price if not canceled before the trial ends.
The free trial targets accounts that have never bought a paid ChatGPT plan. However, not all eligible users see the offer. According to NewsBytes, the trial appeared on one Indian account with no prior paid subscription history but did not show up on another account that had previously used ChatGPT Go. This suggests OpenAI is rolling the promotion out selectively rather than offering it to everyone at once.

ChatGPT Plus gives subscribers priority access to OpenAI’s most advanced models. It also offers faster response times, higher usage limits, and expanded memory for longer conversations. These features make it far more capable than the free tier. Free users often experience slowdowns during peak hours, but Plus subscribers do not.
To claim the trial, users must visit the ChatGPT subscription page. They should then look for the “Claim free offer” button under the Plus plan. The price shows as $0 for the first month. OpenAI still requires a valid payment method before the trial activates. If users forget to cancel, OpenAI automatically charges $20 for the next cycle.
This promotion builds on OpenAI’s broader push into South Asia. The company previously made its ChatGPT Go plan free for all Indian users for 12 months. That offer started in November 2025. ChatGPT Go gives access to GPT-5, roughly 10 times more messages than the free tier, and image generation. The Plus trial now sits above Go as a more premium offer.
While public reporting has so far focused on India, the offer’s appearance on Pakistani accounts is noteworthy, despite not being a default feature for every user. Pakistan has a rapidly growing AI user base. A free trial could therefore help convert active free-tier users into paying subscribers. Users who want to try Plus should claim the offer soon and set a reminder to cancel before the billing cycle resets.
