ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is preparing to send its first astronaut into space as part of the Pakistan astronaut mission, following a partnership agreement between the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA). The agreement includes the training of two Pakistani astronauts at the Astronaut Center of China, with one being selected to join a future mission to Tiangong, China’s space station, by 2026.

During the mission, the chosen astronaut will perform a range of experiments related to medical sciences, aerospace, physics, space radiation, ecology, and astronomy.
