Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Gulmina Bilal Ahmad today addressed a press conference following their participation in the World Digital Education Conference held in China, where they represented Pakistan at a global platform dedicated to the future of digital education and innovation.
During the media briefing, they shared key achievements and strategic outcomes of the high-level visit, highlighting the growing partnership between Pakistan and China in the fields of digital, technical and vocational training, and emerging technologies. The delegation also held productive engagements with leading Chinese institutions and stakeholders on the areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), modern education systems, smart learning environments, and future ready skills development aimed at equipping Pakistani youth for evolving global employment opportunities.
The major outcomes of the visit were proposals for the establishment of AI Innovation Hubs in Pakistan, with a strong focus on Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence education. Discussions also focused on expanding educational and training opportunities for Pakistani students in China, strengthening institutional linkages, and exploring Pakistan’s potential inclusion in the World Digital Education Alliance. Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Minister highlighted that the visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to transforming its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sectors in line with international trends and technological advancements.
He stated that enhanced collaboration with China would open new avenues for innovation, digital skills development, and international partnerships. Chairperson NAVTTC Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad told that the visit marks a significant milestone in advancing Pakistan China cooperation in skills development and technical education.
She emphasized that collaboration in AI, technology transfer, curriculum modernization, and institutional capacity building would play a vital role in creating a modern, industry oriented TVET system in Pakistan. The visit is expected to generate long term positive impacts on Pakistan’s technical education landscape by promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening human resource development, and paving the way for a more competitive and digitally empowered workforce.
