The Pakistan Airports Authority> has extended restrictions on Indian aircraft using Pakistani airspace until June 24, 2026.
According to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued on Tuesday, Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed to all aircraft registered in India.
The restrictions also apply to aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military aircraft.
The NOTAM stated that the ban covers both of Pakistan’s Flight Information Regions (FIRs), including Karachi and Lahore airspace sectors.
The latest extension comes just days before the previous restrictions were set to expire on May 24.
The continued closure has forced Indian airlines to adopt longer alternative routes for flights heading toward Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, leading to higher fuel consumption, longer travel durations, and increased operational costs.
The airspace restrictions remain part of ongoing aviation-related measures between the two neighboring countries amid continued regional tensions.
