The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued legal notices to multiple stakeholders, demanding clearance of unpaid dues worth billions, as financial strain continues to impact the operations of PSL.
Franchises in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have settled outstanding annual fees but insist the board release their pending central revenue shares, some delayed since the league’s inception.
One franchise reported non‑receipt of approximately PKR 96 crore from the central pool for the tenth edition, highlighting significant delays in financial distributions across the competition.
The PCB maintains payments cannot be released until contractual partners clear obligations, leaving franchises owed between PKR 40 and 45 crore from last year’s central pool.
The largest default reportedly involves a company holding broadcast, media and commercial rights, which has failed to pay approximately PKR 4.5 billion after reporting heavy losses.
Because of these defaults, the PCB has struggled to update financial records and complete audits, creating a backlog that continues to affect the league’s financial stability.
The dispute underscores a wider financial logjam within the Pakistan Super League, with payments stalled at several levels, leaving both board and franchises under mounting financial pressure.
