Pokemon Pokopia just launched its highly anticipated Bubbly Basin DLC today. However, a simultaneous Pokemon Pokopia free update brings the most exciting quality-of-life change. The developers finally fixed the game’s biggest crafting problem.
Previously, players struggled with tedious inventory management. The beloved life sim requires tons of items for crafting all across its map. Consequently, players often left key materials in separate chests located in completely different biomes. They then had to embark on frustrating journeys just to track down their lost items. Now, this problem is a thing of the past. Famitsu reports that the free update introduces a new “sharing device” storage option.
Pokemon Pokopia Free Update: How the New Shared Chests Work
Players can place these new chests in every base and biome. Furthermore, you can keep one directly in your inventory. This strategy gives you instant access to your materials anywhere on the map. Additionally, players can craft more of these chests using various in-game recipes.
Famitsu tested the feature recently. They reported that each device holds 20 items. During their test, they deployed 20 devices to achieve 140 total shared storage slots in Pokopia. Ultimately, this shared system makes accessing crafting items significantly easier.
Cloud Islands & Future Content
There is one specific limitation to remember. You can place these shared chests on Pokopia’s Cloud Islands. However, they will only share items with other chests located on that specific Cloud Island.
This free update arrives right alongside the paid Bubbly Basin DLC. Bubbly Basin introduces a Dive mechanic, 3D underwater building, a new underwater town biome, and new Pokemon. Every feature in Bubbly Basin requires payment. Conversely, the shared storage update goes live completely free for all players at the exact same time.
This release marks the first major post-launch content drop for Pokopia, excluding routine events. Therefore, it sets a highly positive tone for the game’s future roadmap.
