Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced plans to establish six additional Schools of Eminence and two Daanish Schools in Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s constituency.
The announcement was made during the minister’s visit to the Nawaz Sharif School of Eminence at Nishtar Park, where he reviewed the school’s educational facilities, modern infrastructure, laboratories, and other arrangements for students.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said the Punjab government was making effective use of taxpayers’ money and directing public resources toward improving the quality of education.
The minister claimed that Schools of Eminence have established a new benchmark for educational infrastructure and encouraged private schools to adopt similar standards. He said private institutions currently do not offer laboratories and infrastructure comparable to those available at the Schools of Eminence.
Responding to criticism of the initiative, Hayat challenged opponents to present an education project matching the standard of the Schools of Eminence.
The education minister further said access to Schools of Eminence is a civil right of every child and that the government is working to make high-quality education available through the public school system.
He added that the Punjab government plans to improve public education by providing students with modern infrastructure, well-equipped facilities, and better learning opportunities.
