Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi 17C 5G after an early retailer listing appeared in Europe earlier this month. The new phone brings 5G connectivity to the Redmi 17C lineup. It also keeps several features from its 4G counterpart while adding a faster mobile chipset.
The Redmi 17C 5G is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users can also expand storage through the microSD card slot. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included as well.
On the front, the phone features a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches 810 nits of peak brightness. An 8MP selfie camera sits inside the waterdrop notch. Around back, there is a single 50MP main camera.
Software is handled by HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16. The Redmi 17C 5G packs a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. It also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
The phone is available in black, brown with a vegan leather finish, and purple. In Singapore, the Redmi 17C 5G is priced at SGD 279 ($220). Xiaomi is expected to bring the device to additional markets in the coming weeks.
