Redmi’s next flagship phone, the Turbo 6 Max, could bring a major display upgrade over its predecessor. A well-known Chinese tipster has shared new details about the phone’s screen, describing it as a true flagship panel.
According to the leak, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max will feature a flat display measuring around 7 inches. The panel is expected to offer 2K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. It could also use LIPO packaging to reduce the bottom bezel and create a uniform design.
The technology is said to bring bezels down to around 1mm on all four sides. Other reported features include large rounded corners, BT.2020 color support, and a high-brightness, low-power substrate.
This would mark a notable improvement over the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The previous model features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 2772 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The 7-inch screen and 2K resolution had already surfaced in earlier rumors in July. Those reports also pointed to a January launch. However, the 185Hz refresh rate and 1mm bezels are new details.
The same tipster previously claimed that the Turbo 6 Max would use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset. The phone is also expected to pack a battery exceeding 10,000mAh.
Redmi could follow a similar launch strategy for the new model. The Turbo 5 Max was released globally as the Poco X8 Pro Max. Therefore, the Turbo 6 Max could also arrive in international markets as the Poco X9 Pro Max.
