Successful Hajj applicants who cannot travel due to an emergency can now transfer their place to a close relative through the Pak Hajj App and the Hajj Digital Portal, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced.
The ministry has added a substitute nomination feature to both platforms, allowing applicants to name a close relative in their place in case of an unforeseen situation. Requests are received entirely online.
If a successful applicant dies, a close relative may apply as the substitute through the same system. The nominated person must be registered on the Hajj Portal to be eligible.
Applicants must upload supporting documents stating the reason for the change, such as a medical report or a death certificate. Hajj dues already paid by the original applicant will be adjusted toward the substitute’s account.
