Samsung Might Introduce One UI 9.0 Following the One UI 8.5 Release
Samsung kicked off the rollout of the stable One UI 8 update earlier this week, but the company has already been working on One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26 series for several months.
Recently, a One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra appeared on Samsung’s servers, fueling speculation. Now, a leaked firmware circulating online has revealed code that points to One UI 9.0 as the next major release.
Both One UI 8 and the in-progress One UI 8.5 are built on Android 16. However, One UI 9.0 is expected to arrive on top of Android 17. Although it’s still too soon to lock in a rollout timeline, industry chatter suggests that Samsung may introduce One UI 9.0 with its next-generation Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices.
For now, Samsung users can check the official One UI 8 stable update schedule that the company has already shared. Still, availability varies by market, so the rollout won’t be identical across all regions.
