Samsung has recently introduced a new type of flash memory called the ‘LPDDR5 which is a UFS-based multichip package. This memory combining with the latest UFS 3.1 NAND flash brings about flagship-level performance to low-cost smartphones.
Moreover, combining with the latest RAM it is able to deliver blazing performance without consuming too much power. This chip will allow numerous smartphone manufacturers to optimize their flagship performance and ensure 5G technologies for the new range of smartphones.
This flash memory and its respective performance further extend to advanced photography, high-graphics gaming, and AI-based applications. The flash memory is quite compact i.e. only 11.5mm x 13mm hence allowing more space for other components.
As of now, the company has started testing the compatibility of the flash memory with other devices of numerous smartphone makers. The memory comes in two options i.e. the 6GB to 12GB DRAM options and 128GB to 512GB and is currently undergoing through mass production.
