A new report suggests Samsung is preparing to bring Google’s Scam Detection feature straight to its next foldable lineup. The feature is expected to arrive on the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8, and a new device currently referred to as the “Wide Fold,” whose final commercial name is still unknown.
According to the source, the information comes from hidden code found in the latest beta version of the Phone by Google app. This code points to support for Samsung’s upcoming foldables. It also suggests that Gemini-powered Scam Detection could be enabled from day one on these devices.
Right now, Scam Detection is limited to users in the United States. However, the presence of wider device references in the app code hints at a possible expansion. It also raises expectations that Samsung may extend availability beyond the US market in the future.
Google already offers this feature in multiple countries on its Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices. That broader rollout makes it likely that Samsung will aim for similar coverage with its next-generation foldables.
Samsung is expected to unveil its new foldable smartphones in July during its next Unpacked event. While details remain unconfirmed, the leaked code suggests tighter integration between Google’s AI tools and Samsung’s upcoming hardware.
