Saudi Arabia’s Asyad Group has expressed strong interest in participating in Pakistan’s upcoming airport privatization process and is working to bring together Saudi and international partners with relevant technical expertise.
The development came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb and Asyad Group CEO Ghassan Ahmed Amodi in Islamabad.
The meeting focused on Asyad Group’s existing investments in Pakistan, plans for expansion and potential opportunities arising from the government’s broader privatization program.
Amodi reaffirmed the group’s commitment to Pakistan as a long-term investment destination and said the country holds an important position within Asyad Group’s investment portfolio outside Saudi Arabia.
He expressed satisfaction with the group’s experience in Pakistan and outlined plans to further expand its presence in the country.
The Finance Minister welcomed the continued interest of Saudi investors and highlighted new investment opportunities being created through the ongoing privatization process.
Aurangzeb stressed the importance of attracting credible, long-term investors and facilitating commercially viable projects across key sectors.
Amodi briefed the Finance Minister on Asyad Group’s interest in the upcoming airport privatization process.
He said the group is working to bring together Saudi and international partners with relevant technical expertise for potential participation in the process.
He also shared details about the group’s recent developments in airport operations and its growing international experience in the aviation sector.
The discussions come as Pakistan continues efforts to attract strategic investors and increase private-sector participation in major infrastructure and state-owned assets.
The meeting also covered the ongoing expansion plans of Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, including its retail network, storage infrastructure and digitalization initiatives.
Company officials briefed the Finance Minister about investments made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of Pakistan, along with plans to further expand operations.
Asyad Group also expressed interest in exploring additional investment opportunities in Pakistan, including the financial sector, while seeking to connect Saudi and Pakistani investors for potential projects.
Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s progress toward macroeconomic stability, citing improvements in key economic indicators and the country’s sovereign credit profile.
He said the government remains focused on fiscal discipline, structural reforms and creating an environment conducive to sustainable investment and private-sector-led economic growth.
The minister also emphasized Pakistan’s strategic geographical position and its potential to serve as a gateway to regional markets.
He encouraged greater collaboration between the government and private sector to identify commercially viable opportunities and convert investment interest into tangible projects.
The Finance Minister appreciated Asyad Group’s continued confidence in Pakistan and assured the delegation that the government would continue facilitating investors.
Amodi also appreciated the government’s engagement and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to expanding investment in Pakistan.
The potential participation of Asyad Group in the airport privatization process could further strengthen economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while bringing international technical expertise into the country’s aviation sector.
