The Sindh government has approved the restoration of the deceased quota for public sector employment, aiming to provide relief to families of government employees who passed away during service.
The decision was taken during a provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi, according to an official statement issued by spokesperson Abdul Rasheed Channa.
Under the restored policy, authorities have been directed to review all pending cases under the deceased quota up to September 2024 and process them strictly on merit.
The move is expected to resolve long-standing cases involving dependents of deceased government employees seeking jobs under the quota system, which is designed to provide financial stability to affected families.
Officials said the restoration reflects the government’s commitment to supporting public servants’ families and ensuring timely assistance through employment opportunities.
Further details regarding implementation and timelines are expected to be announced following administrative review of pending applications.
