The Sindh government has issued a formal notification increasing monthly pensions for retired government employees by 7 percent, effective from July 1, 2026.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh Finance Department, the increase applies to all eligible retired employees. The raise also extends to family pensions and pensions disbursed under the gratuity scheme.
The pension increase follows an announcement made in the provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27, in which the Sindh government proposed a 7 percent increase in both salaries and pensions for government employees.
The notification for the salary increase was issued earlier, and the notification covering pensions for retired employees has now been released as well.
A notification regarding ad hoc relief and conveyance allowance for serving government employees has not yet been issued. The delay has caused concern among employees across various government departments.
Officials have said that if the relevant notification is not issued in time, difficulties may arise in incorporating the new increase into salaries scheduled to be paid on August 1.
