Sindh school education department is moving ahead with fresh recruitment of non-teaching staff for grades 1 to 4, shifting hiring authority from the provincial level to divisional directors.
The decision, formalised in an order issued by Section Officer (General) Iqbal Junejo, decentralises what has typically been a centrally managed process, giving divisional offices direct responsibility for filling vacant support-staff positions in schools under their jurisdiction.
Under the order, appointments must be made through a properly constituted appointment committee and must follow existing recruitment policy and regulations.
The department has also restricted hiring to positions already listed in the budget book, ruling out appointments against unbudgeted posts, and has directed that the eligibility of every selected candidate be verified before confirmation.
The move is expected to speed up recruitment for schools that have long operated with staff shortages in administrative and support roles, while keeping the process tied to existing budgetary and procedural controls.
