Spotify has unveiled a series of exciting Spotify Premium updates, alongside new features for free users, giving everyone greater control over their playlists, track selection, and collaborative listening experiences.
Spotify Premium users are set to enjoy several enhanced features starting with a redesigned Queue. Accessible via the three-line icon at the bottom of the Now Playing screen, the new Queue now offers better controls, including Shuffle, Smart Shuffle (suggesting personalized tracks), Repeat, and Sleep Timer options. Users can now also turn off song suggestions by disabling Autoplay and Smart Shuffle.
Another highlight among the latest Spotify Premium updates is the improved Hide button. Now, hiding a song from a playlist will apply across all devices, offering more consistent listening experiences. Spotify is also testing a new experimental feature called “30-day Snooze,” allowing users to temporarily remove songs from their recommendations for a month, with wider rollout expected soon.
Beyond Premium, Spotify is rolling out broader updates for all users. Playlists now feature easy-to-access Add, Sort, and Edit tools at the top, simplifying playlist management. Users can also change playlist names, update cover art, and reorder tracks effortlessly.
In selected regions like the US, users can now filter their Liked Songs by genre and instantly turn them into customized playlists.
Spotify’s mobile app has also introduced a new Create (+) button at the bottom right, enabling fast playlist creation, social listening features like Blend, and real-time group sessions through Jam (for Premium users). AI Playlist building tools are also now easier to access for Premium subscribers.
Finally, the app’s navigation bar has been slightly restructured, with the Library now located as the third tab at the bottom of the screen.
