Telenor Pakistan Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Ahsan Maykan has officially resigned from his post. This major executive departure occurs right as Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) executes its operational takeover of Telenor Pakistan. Consequently, the leadership structure continues to shift rapidly during this massive corporate transition. The change follows the recent approval of the Scheme of Amalgamation by the Islamabad High Court on June 30, 2026. Readers can review the full corporate transition details in our coverage of the Ufone-Telenor merger final phase.
Ahsan Maykan parted ways with the telecom company earlier this week after a spectacular 18-year career. Interestingly, he joined the organization just a few months after completing graduate school. He began his journey at the entry level. However, he steadily worked his way up to the executive CXO level over the years.
During his early years, he witnessed Telenor Pakistan storm its way from fifth place to second place in the telecom market in only three years. Furthermore, Maykan credited exceptional leaders for mentoring him along the way. In his farewell post, he specifically thanked Umair Mohsin, Omer Bin Tariq, Usman Javaid, and Khurrum Ashfaque for shaping his professional career. During the last three years, Maykan served actively within the Top Management team. In this role, he helped orchestrate a major turnaround in the company’s growth story.
Just recently, Telenor Chief Consumer Business Officer (CCBO) Waqas Aman Ullah also resigned as PTML advanced its takeover. Meanwhile, the corporate restructuring has also brought key talent integration. For instance, the merged entity recently appointed Mudasser Shafiq as its new CFO. Shafiq previously operated as the acting CFO of Telenor Pakistan. Concurrently, PTML is taking over Telenor’s iconic ‘345’ headquarters in Islamabad as the network prepares to transition under the global ‘e&’ brand.
