1047 Games, the development studio behind Splitgate, has officially released the first cinematic trailer for its next project. The new game, Empulse, is a movement-focused, mech-centric 6v6 first-person shooter. Following its initial announcement on May 21, 2026, the developer dropped a 40-second video yesterday. This fresh footage gives fans an early look at the heavily Titanfall-inspired mechanics.

1047 Games is actively shifting directions following a turbulent year for Splitgate 2. Now, the studio aims to fill the massive gap that Respawn Games left behind almost a decade ago.
Fluid Movement & P.A.I.N.T. System
Empulse entirely abandons traditional, rigid FPS mechanics. Instead, the game heavily prioritizes fluid, parkour-based movement. Players will utilize wall-running, grappling, and verticality to navigate the battlefield. The developers drew direct inspiration from fast-paced shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Titanfall.
Additionally, the new trailer highlights the P.A.I.N.T. movement system. 1047 Games states that this Portal-inspired mechanic actively replaces standard movement-shooter jump pads. While the current footage keeps gunplay light, it clearly showcases the game’s aggressive mobility.
Mechs as Power Weapons
Naturally, a Titanfall-inspired shooter must feature mechs. However, Empulse approaches vehicle combat differently. Mechs do not function as a core part of the player’s starting kit. Instead, the developers treat them as map-based “power weapons”.
Similar to securing a rocket launcher in Halo, teams will fiercely compete for cockpit control. According to recent playtests by 1047 Games, whoever controls the mech usually decides the outcome of the entire match.
Empulse Full Reveal & Early Access
1047 Games is loud and proud about its Titanfall inspirations on Twitter. Fans eager to see more will not have to wait long. The studio will host a full gameplay reveal at the PC Gaming Show in just a few days, on June 7, 2026.
Furthermore, early access for Empulse officially starts later this year. Signups are already live right now on the game’s official website. Just like with Splitgate, community feedback will remain a key factor driving the game’s ongoing development.
