The online cab-hailing service has announced another car type for the citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The new car option which appears by the name of uberMini now sends a Mehran car to the rider for an even cheaper ride.

Introduced today, the uberMini has currently been made available in the twin cities only. The Suzuki Mehran car which was previously being considered on the same portfolio as the other uberGo cars, now falls in the uberMini exclusively. The cab ride as offered in uberMini are even cheaper as compared to the uberGo, the mainstream economy option for people who don’t want to opt for uberX etc.

The fare breakdown for a uberMini ride goes as following:

  • Base Fare PKR 50
  • Per KM charge PKR 4
  • Per Minute charge PKR 2.5
  • Minimum Fare PKR 75

The method to calculate the fare for ride remains the same. The base fare is added to the charges of commute, the travel charges and the time charges.

The company made the announcement about launching the ceremony in a blogpost. Uber also listed a few popular routes as followed by customers along with their fare estimations:

  • F-11 to Blue Area in Rs. 100
  • I-8 to Centaurus Mall in Rs. 105
  • Saddar to Commercial Market in Rs. 110
  • Satellite Town to Faizabad in Rs. 120

The Mehran car was originally being sent as an uberGo. Uber says that the car has been excluded from that option owing to the feedback as gathered from its users. Introducing uberMini, the cab-hailing service has further widened the fare bracket to suit the Pakistani audience.
