The global whistleblower organization WikiLeaks has threatened Twitter, the famous micro-blogging site, by stating that it could start one of its own micro-blogging site if Twitter did not give up on the ‘Cyber Feudalism’ sooner.
The conversation occurred as an online exchange of words between WikiLeaks and Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey after Twitter permanently barred Milo Yiannopoulos, the tech editor at conservative news site Breitbart, from Twitter.
Yiannopoulos was banned from Twitter following several complaints from Twitter users on Yiannopoulos leading an online troll against the Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones.
As a reaction to the ban, WikiLeaks posted through their official Twitter’s handle, “We will start a rival service if this keeps up because @WikiLeaks and our supporters are threatened by a space of feudal justice.”
To which Jack replied by stating, “@wikileaks we don’t ban people for expressing their thoughts. Targeted abuse and inciting abuse against people, however, that’s not allowed.”
Earlier WikiLeaks had compared the bans by Twitter to the Turkey’s mass arrests after the attempted coup.
