YouTube is finally joining the annual recap trend that Spotify helped popularize, giving users a personalized look back at their year on the platform. The company announced that YouTube Recap is rolling out today for users in North America, with a global launch set to follow before the end of the week.
After the feature goes live, your Recap will appear on the YouTube homepage and inside the You tab. YouTube says the experience is built to highlight your interests, long-running viewing habits, and the moments that shaped your 2025 watch history. The recap pulls directly from your activity and turns it into a set of personalized insights.
Users will see up to 12 cards that reveal their top channels, favorite topics, and the shifts in their viewing patterns. One card also assigns a “personality type” based on the videos watched throughout the year, offering a light look into how YouTube thinks you explore content.
Music fans get an even deeper view. If you spent time on YouTube Music, the Recap will surface your top artists and songs. You can explore additional details inside the YouTube Music app, including leading genres, podcasts, and even an overview of the global music you listened to this year.
