Zong has started enabling 5G support for iPhone users, but access remains limited for now. The feature is currently only available on Apple’s latest tested software (iOS 26.5 beta), so only users running this version can try it.
This update allows iPhone users on Zong’s network to experience 5G speeds under specific conditions. However, users must install the latest tested software to unlock the feature. Without this version, 5G connectivity does not appear on supported iPhones.
The development shows that Zong is actively testing 5G compatibility with Apple devices. Even so, the rollout remains in an early stage. Since beta software is not widely used, most users still cannot access 5G services.
As per reports, 5G will be offered on all iPhones soon for Zong users, beta testing is currently underway. A full rollout is expected in upcoming weeks, once testing is completed and stability is ensured.
At the same time, it is not officially announced that there is full Zong 5G support in stable iOS releases. This suggests that both companies are still working behind the scenes to finalize compatibility. Once testing is complete, a wider rollout could follow in a future iOS update.
For now, users who want to try Zong’s 5G service on iPhone will need to switch to the iOS 26.5 beta. Even then, performance may vary, as beta versions often come with bugs and limited stability.
Apple first introduced 5G support with the iPhone 12 lineup in 2020. However, 5G does not work automatically on every network. Apple enables it through carrier-specific settings inside iOS. If a telecom operator is not officially approved, the 5G option stays hidden on iPhones. In markets like Pakistan, where 5G is still in the early rollout stage, telecom companies must first obtain certification from Apple. Until that process is complete, even 5G-capable iPhones remain limited to 4G despite having the required hardware.
