YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his channel BeerBiceps, is under scrutiny following inappropriate remarks made during his appearance on the show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ The widespread criticism on social media stemming from the incident prompted the filing of an FIR against Allahbadia, along with fellow judge Samay Raina and several other participants of the episode.
During the show, Allahbadia posed a controversial question to a contestant, which many viewers found offensive. This incident prompted social media users to engage in discussions regarding content regulations, while simultaneously scrutinising the ethical responsibilities of digital influencers. Experts criticise potentially objectionable content for undermining ethical safeguards and encouraging inappropriate behaviour among viewers.
In response to the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated, “I have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in the wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. In our society, we have made some rules. If someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken against them.”
The FIR has been filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, and the organisers of ‘India’s Got Latent’ for purportedly employing abusive language during the program. The matter is presently undergoing investigation.
