Petrol Prices Likely to Increase Again
Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to go up once again from October 1, as reports suggest a fresh hike in the rates of petroleum products. According to details, the prices of petroleum products may increase by Rs1.97 to Rs4.65 per liter starting next month.
The price of petrol is expected to rise by Rs1.97 per liter, while high-speed diesel may see an increase of Rs2.48 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of light diesel oil is projected to go up by Rs1.76 per liter, and kerosene oil is likely to face the steepest hike at Rs4.65 per liter.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its working paper on the revised rates to the Ministry of Finance through the Petroleum Division. Following the approval of the Prime Minister, the Finance Ministry will make the official announcement of the new petrol prices tomorrow.
It is important to note that just 15 days ago, the government decided to keep petrol unchanged, while the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs2.78 per liter.
