Samsung Electronics has reported another record-breaking quarter, with revenue rising 14% from the previous quarter. The company also became the first technology firm to cross KRW 100 trillion in quarterly operating profit.
According to its latest earnings report, Samsung recorded KRW 107.4 trillion in operating profit. Its Device Solutions (DS) division, which handles memory chip production, played the biggest role in this growth.
The DS division reported consolidated revenue of KRW 147.1 trillion and operating profit of KRW 106.5 trillion. Both figures mark another record quarter for Samsung’s semiconductor business.
HBM4 and Server SSD Sales Drive Growth
Samsung credited strong demand for HBM4 memory and server SSDs for its latest financial performance. Rising demand for AI infrastructure has also helped boost sales across its memory business.
The company expects memory demand to increase further next quarter. New CPU and GPU platforms entering the market are likely to support this growth. However, Samsung expects the trend to continue beyond the current quarter. It says AI-related demand will grow significantly faster than industry supply in 2027.
The company stated that “increasing AI-driven demand will far exceed the industry supply in comparison with 2026.” This points to continued pressure on memory supply as AI infrastructure expands.
Samsung Announces KRW 30 Trillion Dividend
Samsung Electronics has also announced cash dividends of KRW 4,601 per common share. Preferred shareholders will receive the same amount. The total dividend payout will reach KRW 30 trillion in Q3. Meanwhile, Samsung aims to return between KRW 90 trillion and KRW 110 trillion to shareholders in 2026.
However, the planned shareholder returns will include more than cash dividends. Samsung also expects a substantial share repurchase program to form part of the total amount.
The company has also shared performance details for its other divisions, including Visual Display and Digital Appliances. These figures provide a broader picture of Samsung’s performance across its business operations.
