Motorola to Rival Samsung, Apple in Smartphone Slimness Race
The Motorola Edge 70 is shaping up to be one of the thinnest smartphones of the year. Originally teased in China as the X70 Air, the device is now confirmed to launch globally under the Edge 70 name.
According to the leaks, the Edge 70 will measure under 6 mm thick, putting it in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, iPhone Air, Tecno Spark Slim, and Tecno Pova Slim.
A leaked promo video highlights the device’s ultra-slim profile and showcases three elegant color options. While the X70 Air is set to launch in China later this month, Motorola has not yet revealed the global release date for the Edge 70.

The company previously launched the Edge 60 in April, but it’s unlikely to delay this release for too long, given the growing competition in ultra-thin smartphones.
Leaked specifications suggest the Motorola Edge 70 will feature a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside an ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view. The device will also include stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos, offering an enhanced audio experience.
