The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has instructed all universities conducting the MDCAT 2025 to carry out a pre-hoc analysis of question papers to ensure accuracy, quality, and strict alignment with the approved syllabus. The regulatory body emphasized maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and adherence to PM&DC guidelines during paper development and printing.
The MDCAT examination is set for October 26, 2025 (Sunday), with 140,125 applicants registered nationwide. The test will take place at 35 venues across Pakistan, including one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The exam will be conducted through five universities: the University of Health Sciences Lahore, Sukkur IBA University, Khyber Medical University Peshawar, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad.
According to PM&DC, while the universities are responsible for conducting the exam, the Council has provided the overall policy framework, test structure, and access to a uniform national item bank.
All exam-conducting universities must ensure that pre-hoc analysis and paper development strictly follow PM&DC’s syllabus to avoid errors or out-of-syllabus questions. Strict secrecy will be maintained, with question papers to be opened only in the presence of official witnesses.
PM&DC also directed universities to issue admit cards or roll number slips to candidates at least seven days before the test and to announce results within seven days after the examination to ensure transparency and timely communication.
