Acer Laptops to Be Assembled Locally in Pakistan Soon

In a major boost for Pakistan’s tech manufacturing sector, Airlink Communication Limited has announced plans to begin local assembly of Acer laptops in the country. The company expects an initial shipment of 10,000 units by November 2025, marking the start of a pilot phase to test market demand.

During a corporate briefing attended by Topline Securities, Airlink confirmed that if the pilot launch proves successful, it will shift towards full-scale local production, with the capacity to assemble up to 10,000 laptops per month, contributing an estimated Rs. 4 billion annually.

“This step will help reduce reliance on imported devices, cut costs, and create new job opportunities in Pakistan’s tech manufacturing industry,” said a company spokesperson. The initiative aligns with the government’s “Made in Pakistan” policy, designed to promote local industrial growth and self-sufficiency in technology production.

Airlink has already made strides in expanding its electronics portfolio, with upcoming projects including Pakistan’s first official Apple retail store and a Xiaomi outlet at Lahore’s Dolmen Mall. The company aims to enhance domestic production capacity across consumer electronics and digital devices in the coming years.
