Two Consecutive Holidays Announced in Punjab’s Narowal District
The Narowal district administration has announced a local public holiday on Saturday, November 1, to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani at Alipur Syedan Sharif. With Sunday following, residents will enjoy two consecutive holidays in the district.
The Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani, a revered Sufi saint, draws thousands of devotees from across Pakistan each year. The event holds deep religious and cultural importance in Punjab, symbolizing peace, devotion, and spiritual unity.
The official notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, confirming the public holiday and urging residents to cooperate with the administration during the Urs celebrations.
Authorities have finalized comprehensive arrangements for the event, including security, crowd management, and health facilities.
“All departments, including police, Rescue 1122, and the health unit, will remain on alert to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors,” said a district administration spokesperson.

Thousands of pilgrims are expected to visit Alipur Syedan Sharif, where the district administration has set up:
- Temporary lodging and resting areas
- Medical and rescue stations
- Clean drinking water and food stalls
- Round-the-clock security to maintain peace and order
A local official added,
